Guys I am running a Lumatek adjustable electronic ballast (400w SL setting), I was considering changing ballast to a 400w PFO HQI ballast to get more output from my radium. Do you thing the change will make the bulb noticeably brighter?

Nice. I have a 75 rimless to. 36"24"20" and am going to be putting two 250w radiums over it soon. it looks like one 250w covers pretty well. how do you like the coverage? also how high is the light from the water?

Recent Radium club inductee. Last pics are FTS of my previous tank. Corals all grown out with 4x54 watt T5HO in a 55 gallon, but took that tank down and sold off most my SPS colonies. I'm in the process of rebuilding the SPS population and am now using 2x250 watt radiums in Lumenmax II's on Hamiltom M80 ballasts. No supplements. All IPhone pics. Most are from the new tank which is a 90. I kept all my LPS and a couple SPS.

Picked up about 15 different SPS frags/mini colonies in the past 2 days so I'll be watching Ca and Alk closely and adjust as needed. Hoping I'll enjoy some faster growth and deeper coloration with MH than I did with T5HO.

I'll be soon getting a BML 48" custom LED strip to dim as a dawn/dusk with the apex, but it'll be primarily to extend viewing hours and supplement the 420 nm dip Radiums seem to have. Super happy with my colors as is though. Photoperiod is at 4.5 hours as of now and I'll be going up 30 minutes per week until I hit the 8 hour mark. I aim to go SPS dominant and basically cover every inch of the tank.
