Phill, It must be the pic but your tank looks a lot bigger than 50 gallons! May I ask, what happened after you tried to split the carpet?

Phil, I saw your thread, I imagine that was a really bad experience, but I'm pretty sure it will help us to consider certain things before to do so in our tanks, thanks for shared your experience.
I have to say that the thread changed my idea to divide my carpet in the future, I will keep it like it is.

I was sad that I lost my anemone, but my only other option (because it was getting so big) was to donate it to a local public aquarium. If I hadn't tried to split it, I still wouldn't have it anymore. This way I learned a lot and was able to share my experience with others that share my interests. So it wasn't all bad. Just so people who didn't read the thread know, at the time, I thought I had a pretty good chance for success.
The thread came at a time when people were being told that all species of anemones could be cut up to make more. I think this saved quite a few different species of carpets from probable death and made people think twice about cutting up any anemone.

Love them clownfish.
here is an h. crispa in my 45 gallon cube. i have since taken out even more rock, leaving just something for the anemone to hold on to...and some sand. its big.

Anemones are so cool.
I'm going to follow this thread. Maybe someday I'll try one...
BTW, phender, you have some giant stones to be able to frag that nem. I think i would have gotten to that picture you had of it on a cutting board, and then it would have went back into the tank...

Really nice looking tank Ron Popeil.
I think there are a number of people here with carpet dominated tanks and I would love to see them as well.

Couple of my older tanks that were more so nem dominated.
The smaller tank was my 90g, and that shows my chromis and anthias, and if you look closely you'll see a chromis in my Crispa.
All my chromis used to hang out in my nems.
How many different types of anemones do you have mixed? All your tanks look great!Any issues with them together?
