Show me your BIGGEST softie show piece

Yea I had buyers remorse at first spending $110 on it, but ive gotten a lot of that back selling some frags to local reefers, its a pretty fast grower, I would compare it to a colt coral if you have ever had one.

Ive never liked getting frags, I usually buy a bigger piece for a little bit more and it has the extra branches to grow fast enough to make lots of frags and make money back relatively fast

Xenia is always a good investment also to let it spread and trade it or sell it for corals/money

I've never had a colt coral. I do miss the days before frags...$39.99 for a softball sized galaxea & $29.99 for big brains. Xenia was our first frag in this tank & took off great until my boyfriend put biopellets on the tank. Lost some frags & everything was dying so he pulled them offline. Everything but the xenia has come back. It's all tiny. It will get a little bigger, then shrink again. I think it enjoyed the high nitrates.

In the left corner of the tank was a toadstool I had that measures 16" across when it wasnt all folded up. I finally got rid of it and bought a small neon green toadstool that is now growing rather large. In the last few months it has gone from the size of a quarter to about 9" across, I have fragged it several times for members of the local ref club that wanted one.

ibefishy, how did you frag it. Always wanted to do it but dont have the ba!!s. Mine is about 8-9". I had it when it was about 2".

Take a new sharp razor blade and slice off a piece. I generally do a wedge shape and then run a toothpick thru it and rubberband it to a piece of live rock for a few weeks and then it will attach and you have your frag. After it attaches remove toothpick and rubberband. When you frag a softie like a toadstool best to do it out of the DT in a seperate bowl of water because they slime up like crazy.
