Show me yours..

come to think of it I use to see those all the time at the LFS's but not lately. I think the worms are cool but was never too interested in the brown porites that comes with it.

Very neat though....

Thanks guys I acquired this guys when a lfs change his display tank around..bad mistake..now it looks horrible if u ask me...either way..I was always facinated by this cristmas tree worms....one day I went to the store and they had it sale for only $24.99..I was all novel them...

Are you doing anything specific to feed the worms?

If not, what's the feeding regime for your fish? What type of foods? What's your fish load?

What's the nutrient levels in your tank? PO4 & NO3

Have the worms multiplied?

I'm just trying to get info on what you might be doing differently. From what I've read they usually die off in peoples tanks. I've never personally kept them & have held off only because I haven't read of anyone else that has had these thrive & multiply over a period of years.

wow. good job!

i don't think you're going to get any/many pics of people who have kept them long term.

i'd take the (somewhat boring) porites just to have the worms if i could!

Actually I love the porites in first picture.....they are not brown at all....it truly complements the worms looks quite a bit...
The worms in the second picture are not so beautiful but they are still nice....when I bought them off live aquaria 2 weeks ago I thought they would be the same as the first picture but they were quite different...

Hi big E
Well I'm not doing anything specific to feed them...my lfs had them for maybe 2 year or even longer..in the past I have done a lot of new spectrum pellets, brine shrimp, and at times I feed the tank microvert filter feeder invertebrate food.or similar products...I only feed my fish once 3 days a week and 2 times the other 4 days...from what I read I believe the porites require lots of light and if u can keep ur porites u have huge chances of keeping the cristmas tree worms...so that said I keep them in the high/middle of the aquarium...I have 60 Cree LEDs on my 75 so it has plenty of light...my phosphate is around 0. 15 ppm pretty high..I do feed a lot and I have a huge skimmer in the sump...along with at least 20 fish...fish bio load might have a lot to do with their health...but from what I read..they love excellent water parameters...

No they haven't multiply...I don't think they'll ever will..since I truly think that happens when all corals spawn in the ocean reefs..just my opinion....

Monday I went to the Bay Area in sf and stoped by a fish store and they had a huge rock with like 15 worms but the porites were in pretty bad shape I thought..they only wanted $79.99..I was anxious to get it but I stoped my self from doing it,...I'm my opinion if porites don't look good forget about those beautiful worms...
