Yeah I'd love it, but the price is outrageous!

What size acrylic when you go to 48X48X30? 3/4"? The thicker it gets the more dough you spend. If I can ask, how much?

If I had to settle I would go with the larger foot print. More space even though its shorter.

Actually I was going to go with glass. I'm not a big fan of acrylic. I was even thinking of giving glasscages a call. I saw a 30x30x25 cube they made in person, and to me it wasn't any worse then an AGA or Perfecto tank. I did get some prices from Miracles on smaller cubes. 30x30x30 rimless Starphire on 3 sides is $1153 shipped. Glasscages 48x48x25 Eurobraced 635+shipping.

It would be 3/4" Acrylic on the 48x48x30. I know that MRC has a 3/4" 48x48x24 that he sells for $1800.

If you could do rimless that would be sweet.

I have only ever had acrylic. I like it OK but my next one will be rimless glass.

I'm just not sure how much I would trust rimless above 30" in L and W. If I didn't have a little one around, I wouldn't be so worried about it.

I'd go for the 36x36x30. The other size would look funny at that height IMHO.

That's what I think I'm leaning towards. I think it would look better as well. If I were to go 48", I think I would only go 36" wide and then I don't have a cube anymore.

Here is my 30x30x30 Acrylic Cube... A buddy of mine just sent me a link to this thread and figured I would put up some pics of my cube. Its only been set up for a few months now, so its still a work in process!

Pic from when it was still cycling...

Still in the process of plumbing the closed loop... all I need to do is get a pump and it should be good to go! Also notice all the fire hazards! :D

Nice cubes everyone. My cube is 40x40x29h 200g and I just filled it yesterday and put my rocks in that's why it's a little cloudy and not much to look at right now, but you get the idea.

zoos - awesome cube! i really like your aquascaping. looks like you have created a nice spot for a clam there in the middle :)

mind sharing some info on your setup?

nice cubes!

make sure you have a nozzle from your return or closed loop pointed in the middle to give it enough flow to keep detritus from building up, otherwise it's an awesome aquascape!

I got some prices on 36x36x30 tanks. I asked Glasscages for just a plain low iron glass on 3 sides with no overflow and got a quote of about $925 shipped. Miracles I asked for an external overflow also and got a quote of around $1875 shipped. These both had eurobracing as well. I also asked Miracles for a price rimless and got a price of about $2375 shipped. My wife already laughed at me when I said the price for the rimless, so I know I won't be getting one. :(

decisions.... decisions!

Thank you, and yeah I have plenty of flow in the middle it has a panworld 50x-x for the return and a dart for the closed loop.

Yeah, Ive gotten similar pricing before. Miracles makes an AMAZING product and if and when I get to a point where I wont be moving or upgrading for a while I will probably purchase one. Miracles polishes all of their edges, which is nice but I dont think it is necessary.

Ive been thinking about building my own rimless cube. I would just make sure to use thick enough glass and water test it for a LONG TIME before moving it in my house. Just thinking aloud. Any thoughts on doing that?

where can I find a cube aquarium? glass or acrylic from 50 to 100 gallons is what im in the market for. any suggestions? where? how much? etc...

thanks!

I just picked up a 30 by 30 by 25 cube (roughly 97 gallons) from GlassCages and it was $315. I am happy with it so far.

My friend got a braceless/rimless 36 by 36 by 20 at the same time and I want to say that his ran 460 base and then an extra 50 to bump up to braceless/rimless

jocoxVT

That is a monster tank zoos, I love it!

That is a good deal jocoxVT, you will love it. It looks just like my tank, but with a smaller overflow.
