Thats an excellent suggestion, what are the pros and cons you have found? Me likely!!
I wrote somewhere in our tank thread around the link I provided that I really liked the remote nature of the power outlets from the control switches. So far it has been working great. I use it at least once a week, if not more (when cleaning the skimmer, etc). So far no cons at all. I really like the lack of tangled extension cord mess that most have to deal with when using the basic power centers and/or not having to deal with the extra expense to reduce the tangled extension cord mess (IE: like the DIY mounted outlets powered by the basic DJ Power switches, etc).
As you can see from the pictures ours is mounted right over our fuge/sump. The powder coating on it has protected it so far from any salt water damage (even when I am getting it wet switching it with wet fingers

There were several links on that thread that outline where I got it from and technical specs of the device from the manufacturer. I also heard that some LFS have used them so that the switches could be under the front counter and the outlets over by the tanks and equipment (without a bunch of extension cords running to them, just that one 9 pin communication cable)
We found it to be a great solution, generally cost effective to achieve all that we wanted. I hope that it helps you with your project and/or setup
