Blue tape shows where the top of the tank will be. The canopy insert isn't done yet, but its the last thing to do for that. Will be ordering material for the hardware cabinet this coming week.
Wow is that the new "ultra" starfire glass doesn't even look like a tank is there. Lol
Feh- you should paint the conduit the same color as the wall. Hopefully you plan to use the conduit to run the wires from the lights. That will be a nice clean look for a set up.
I think it's pretty fancy

Designed by me, built by a friend. Designed entirely for the purpose of housing a fish tank and all the equipment associated with one.

Correct, doors above and below tank follow the curve of the tank, I'm not a millworker but I assume they heat and moisture press the wood into shape, or cut it from very large blocks, but that's probably wrong. That's really nice! Would like to see a better pic of the doors- looks like they're curved? Curious how that was done.
It will house my 20gallon high sump, HOB protein skimmer, and eventually an ATO system and maybe even a few reactors.Yes it is!
What do you have in the cabinets? You have lots of storage space!
To me the entire cabinet and tank are a piece of art, I prefer to make the entire unit visually appeasing instead of having a slapped together stand directing people to the tank. It adds to the appeal of the tank IMO.
Nano reefs are cool!
Besides, what's wrong with "all that for a small tank"?
...but to each their own.
I'm thinking I'll need to post some head on pictures tonight. The proportions aren't all that bad TBHI was originally put off by the ratio of tank to cabinet. Now I'm liking the advantage of all that storage so close to the tank.
I WILL NOT show this to my wife! If there were a place to put everything I'd always have to put it away!
Filling it up this weekend finally![]()
Haha, will do!Great!
If the stand works for you and your family, that's all that really matters.
And be sure to let us know how your friend's 'bigger tank' ploy works.![]()
