Show me your Pillar's

Thanks. An added bonus...I can remove rocks as I please without interfering with the rest of the structure. Perfect for adding corals, or removing rock if corals start to grow too big.

I'll never go back to the carfully balanced wall o' rock again :D

Thanks for the props SDguy. Just thought I would throw in an updated pillar pic...

With respect to limestone at least, just make sure to use a regular rotary drill (not a hammer drill), masonary bid designed for a rotary drill (again, not hammer), and drill at high rpm. I got to the point that I was drilling at the very edge of rocks with no problem of breakage. My first try, I drilled too slowly, and just broke the rock into pieces.

Hey reefer2005, looks fantastic! Exactly what I'm planning for livestock. For my own future reference, what have you found to grow/live well in the shadowy overhangs? I have 250W DE in PFO hoods for comparison, in case you need it.

Thanks... I have several ricordea and and assorted zoa's that are doing great. I also have a blasto thats doing really good. Thats about it right now until my cash flow increases.:D

Nice job! FWIW, my exposed acrylic rod sections already have coralline growing on them.

Cool,
I guess that will happen with mine eventually. BTW SD how long took you to have some coralline on the rods?

I bought the rock in september, made the pillars toward the middle to end of september, so not long. Keep Ca/alk stable and Mg up, and it'll grow fast.

I found some locally , but USplastics has them. I bought the discs there too.

Just checked out this thread....some very cool tips. Can't wait to do our 150 now as stacking it is just so boring! Thanks guys!
