I don't know may be I'm missing something .
Why get a 26" skimmer and only use half of it.

Thats a great question Steve. I have to say that I agree. The body looks like it should have more foam in it.

But on the other hand, the results that others have shown speak volumes about this skimmers performance and capabilities. I'll just have to wait and see:D

It is no brainer about the H/S performence.I was going to get a H/s skimmer but got shy because of this situation with the skimmer not utilize the whole chamber .
This not new thing I saw H/S skimmers in Germany the same way.
I just said why make them so tall if you don't use the whole skimmer.

No Way! Mr. ER aka jimdogg187 got an H&S?

jimdogg187.....lunchbucket.....did the earth spin off it axis?

Congrats on the new skimmer, look forward to seeing more pics.

Just kidding folks - heck if we didn't have skimmers to play with what would we do?

ErikS - i take it you saw it in the "D" forum :D. yeah i heard jimdogg was looking into a "D" too...thought that was scary. there are quite a few others i won't name that have gone w/ "D" skimmers. i thought something global was happening too....so did others when they found out.

they are toys...and i like to play :D

LOL....

Thanks. Yup, it's true. I switched over. I couldn't resist. But I still have my ER and its running like a champ! You're right though, if we didn't have skimmers to play with, we would all be bored. In fact, I think I enjoyed re-plumbing my entire system more than anything else... go figure.

Jim

jim - i agree i still have my ER (i don't have my Deltec yet) and will keep it. great skimmer IMO...we'll see how the two compare

replumbing your whole system...you ARE SICK. i like seting up new ones but messing w/ existing ones..NO WAY. i like to set and forget..freaks me out thinking about redoing a set up tank...not sure why...too much skimmate sniffing fried my brain? :eek1:

Oh yeah! It was fun. I re-plumbed every thing. My drain had to be split and I re-plumbed the whole return system as well. It took about 6 hours and 4 trips to HD:D :D but I'm MUCH happier with the way it is running now.

Per the thread title, another skimmer.
Sorry its not another H&S, its a D&I&Y :D
