I must admit, when I was first researching reef tanks, it was a little intimidating, especially talk of sps corals. But I knew I loved them and they would be a big part of my tank, even though I hardly new what the salinity of the ocean was back in January. Haha. Fortunately, I've never loss an sps coral, actually I haven't loss much of anything and some things weren't my fault... Can't change nature.

Anyway, today I was looking at some pics I took of the first sps corals to go in my tank and it put a big smile on my face to see how much they've grown. I know these are easier to keep sps corals, but that was my intentions being new to the hobby.

These were taken on July 21st this year. So less than 5 months. Not too bad I think, of course I don't have anything to compare it to.

Nevertheless, who doesn't love a pic thread? So please share your growth shots. :)

not sure what CuzzA is using but I have a Reefbreeder Photon 48 with two T5 supplements over the 4x2x2 tank. I think I am at 75% Blue and 50% White for my peak LED times along with the T5s (4 hour peak).

First Tank New nothing about Saltwater period 65 Gallon from Oct 2013 to June 2014

Photon 48. It took me a few months but I think I'm dialed in pretty good at 70/35.

Picked up a second one to add to the 8 footer. May need two more with the increased depth of 30".

Kind of, foxface was eating polyps off the millies, lost most of my colonies. Now I am too busy with the baby to spend much time tuning it back in to the sweet spot

Well that sucks.

Taking this out of the original context... What's that saying?

"Never Trust a Fox in His Green Meadow" - A dead German who was rightfully hung.

I'm sure you'll get it back to that sweet spot again. Congrats on the baby.
