Show off your in-wall tanks

Ok.. I have a question.. How do you clean the front glass on a 34" deep (front to back) tank without easy access to the front? I'm working on a 320 in-wall build, and I'm trying to decide if I will have to put access doors in the wall.. I'd much rather Not, but I can't figure out how to properly clean the tank..

Any advice?

Aaron

Mine's 96"L X 30"W X 30" D, algaefree magnet cleaner and scraper's with different length handles. I don't have front access and am finding it more difficult as corals grow out getting at the bottom of the front. My biggest problem is placing things on the bottom or midway on the rocks, much more than glass cleaning.
I stop the flow and use the mirror effect of the front panel to see from the back, but you're working backwards and it can be frustrating sometimes.

I love the look of it and probably wouldn't change it at this point, just a bit more challenging. Click my red house for a look at the build thread.

tom obrecht, I'd kill to have a display tank visible from all those rooms! the openness of your house is great. my house is open but unfortunately the dining room (where the display goes) is not as open as the rest.

Thanks. The whole layout did workout well. It was a real conversation piece when we entertained for people always seem to congregate in the kitchen. It was also nice for all the sumps ect were located in the basement so the noise level was very minimal.
Here's another shot or two of my current in wall. It's only been up about 1 year due to a relocation.

I'd also recommend some wide doors for access purposes.

And if room permits a sliding light rail.

Cleaning the glass wont be hard at all. Just get an EZ-Blade...its a razor that attaches to a magnet so you dont have to put your hand in the tank at all (http://www.reefspecialty.com/produc...d=179&osCsid=629aa7faebdba1136195bdc96a57e46b)

Now working on the sand and reaching down there to place corals or aquascape...thats a different story. Its the reason why my old tank is 30" and my new one is 26" deep.

Front access is a MUST IMO for in wall tanks. I tried one years ago with no access from the front and NEVER again will I make that mistake. That's why I included some pics of my front access doors. Just my $.02.

OK tjh now you've got me interested. Do you have a thread or a link to more build photos? I don't want to hijack this too much but I've gotta see what's going on behind that tank! It's just sick.
