Show Off your prop System!

David Copperfield here I come. HEHE JK, Look very close and you can see two book shelf brackets sticking out in the second photo. They are white. I have a 10 g done the same way. Make sure they are bolted through a stud and you have the appropriate size/strength brackets or well ummm. Splish Splash. LOL

wait, that skimmer isnt just for that frag tank is it?

edit, ok i re read that post.
"It is plummed into my main system"

ok so his total is ~ 100gal? Im curios on how the skimmer is performing. I think i remember reading that the skimmer would be rated around 1500gal is that right?

Ixthys, No wood. Most small tanks can be supported like this. The oceanic stand for my 70RR leaves a gap front to back and is only supported on the ends. Scared the pee out of me when I noticed it.

ReefBuddha and Kurt03,

It is the DIY skimmer. I have it FS as my plans to upgrade have been dashed upon the reef of life like an unsuspecting ship in a storm. Wow that was dramatic sounding. LOL. I figured I would try it out while I was waiting to sell it. I have been reef only for 8-10 weeks while my fish are in QT soooo... Well lets just say there was almost no out put from my ev-180 even 3 weeks ago due to low bio load, but this thing is pulling NOG every day.

Sorry thread pirate.

Thanks for the compliment on the tanks. One of my favorite all time movies is jaws. One of my favorite lines in jaws is "Here's to swimmin with bow legged women" which was my signature for some time. I thought the avatar was a good match. I recently went to a frag swap out of town and they felt I was much better looking than that guy. Not by much though. LOL. I will change it just for you.

Shawnts106,

How about that one? Sorry

Been moving some stuff around and out of a couple 25g tubs on one end of the sump. Finally got that done so I could hook this tank up to the system.

Tank is 48" x 24" x 14" and at this point I have a 400W 20K over it. Light spread is pretty good considering. I may leave it this way since I have a hard time finding places to put lower light corals in my tanks.

I'm running short of flow from the main pump but the single MJ Mod is doing a fair job. I've got another kit on order and with it I'll need to lash down the frags.

This is a light timer box a good friend of mine made for me and we hooked it up yesterday. It runs all the lights on one side of the sump but not the tank above. So I'm now down to only one peg-style timer instead of seven. :)

Great lookin' prop system!

Any specs?

And yes i have noticed too, that there are alot of Steve's in this hobby....im proud to be one of them also!

Steve :)

The main tank is roughly 650 gallons, 20'long 56" wide and 14" deep.
total system volume is around 1200 gal
350lb of base rock turned live rock
about 500 lbs of carbsea sand
gas water heater with heat exchanger
skimmer with 2 sedra pumps
Ca reactor that holds 80lb of media
I built most of the equipment so i don't have any fancy equipment brands to mention.

about 95 different SPS, 12 LPS ans 18msc species
some colie tangs, a flamingi tang and a few other misc fish...
probably 200 or more snails, tons of copopods. the system has only been running for 3 months now and things have just begun to color up and encrust.
