Steve how do you keep the temp down in the hot Cali summers?

I am located about 3 miles from the ocean so the temperature never gets too hot, probably only 3 or four days a year above 90 here. I use blower fans aimed at the surface of the tank. as long as the humidity is not too high it works great.

My tank is basically done and will have water in it in the next few days to begin cycling. Its mainly going to be an SPS dominated tank. Its also going to be bare bottom. Heres some pictures

Its a 33g long w/ 20gL sump. Tank is 48"x13"x12"

Steve, what do you use for UV protection?

I see greenhouses built here all the time, with special UV resistant materials... Yours looks like its out in the open!

i am looking to do a 36x36x12 prop tank with a 250 HQI.it will house sps and everything under that and im looking to find out how high to hang the light.
