I am thinking about using my 4x54 T5 TEK Light over my frag tank, you all think I can keep the SPS alive under that? I noticed someone further up this thread was using a TEK for his SPS frags

Thanks in advance!

What size is this tank and what dimensions?

Looking for size and dimensions of this tank. Also if you know what manufacter makes it and where to buy it and the price of them that would also help. Thanks.

Here is mine frag/prop setup. It is small so don't laugh, I swear the water was cold. LOL It is plummed into my main system and has aobut 225 watts over 5 gallons of water with 660 gallons of random flow from some new hydor prop pumps.

Decided to go large with the skimmer though.

Here's my new setup that I just set up this last week. It replaced my old 45ish gallon frag tank. This one has a built in 1/2 horse chiller too!

It's some kind of black epoxy when they set the ballasts in the enclosures. It apparently happens when they slop it in there. The ballasts don't seem to get hot and it doesn't soften up or anything even after 12 hours useage. I've had one over my sump for awhile now at 14 hours a day. When you take off that gold part with the 2 rectangular bumps on it, one has the ballast in it and it looks like they poured it in w/o caring about mess.

Oh okay, that is good. It almost looked like you potentially could have something dripping into the tank and that stuff doesn't look like it would work out to well for your corals.

That's what I thought when I brought the first one home. I let it run almost a week in the garage to be sure!

This is quite an inspirational thread. I was considering a low tech cube with LPS only in addition to my little SPS tank, however, a sick prop system may be in the works now.

Some very inspirational propagation systems here;) .

Here is a pic of mine

I was wondering if anyone has used or experimented with the "seament"(Electrical current using anode and cathode to build aragonite material) method to see if growth rates can be boosted in their frag tanks?

Cheers

The problem is the process creates chlorine and in a closed system I don't think you can deal with that.
