Show Off your prop System!

Glass is 1/4" dims are 34"x32"x7" and not a bit of bowing. If I remeber right 1/4" should be good up to around 10" without bracing maybe 12".
Glass was all free to me from alocal glass company that cuts it up for me when they get big windows broke that still have usable pieces.

dendronepthya, you the man! I wish you the most success with your righteous endeavor of coral farming. I like the way you put the video together, great quality.

rhys123, I have always preferred the look of captive sps under natural sunlight, those pictures are amazing. I apologize if you have already said this, but do you use natural sea water for your water changes?

Cheers mate

Yeah I use natural sea water I live about 20 minutes from a national marine park (nice clean water)

That is a dying red macro that I am able to grow in large amounts. Periodically i take the crate out and let it dry, rinse most of the algae off and what you see is the little pieces I tend to ignore. I harvest it weekly from my system dry it and use it to feed my tangs and angels which all love it. No idea on the species though.

Got my vote.

Do most people plumb into the main system or run a seperate system?

I have room to do either, just wondering what the pros and cons are.

TIA

Im thinking of plumbing mine into my main system reason being instant stability.

But I still want to do a stand alone system just for quarantine.

I always plumbed mine separately because it eliminates the possiblity of one piece of equipment malfunctioning and killing both tanks.
Mostly, though, I did it because the frag tank was on the other side of the room from the main tank :fun2:
I can see the pros and cons of doing it either way.

That's probably what I will end up doing. I have a 50 G for the frags and can use either a 55 or a 29 for QT of frags. Thanks for the reply

Any other reasons you can think of to have seperate systems? I have several other systems already running so I have redundantacy built in. Thanks for replying.

I have set up 2 prop systems each is 300gal vat with a 50gal vat above it.

Long time lurker on RC, I seldom contribute anything but I thought I might try my luck. Hopefully I qualify although I am not in anyway a hardcore farmer like some of you...
The pictures are from last year but the tank has not changed much exept for the corals of course.
The tank is about 200 liters aprox 50+ of your gallons.
I went for a cleaner look to increase the GAF;)

What kind of light are you running on that?
I have a 50 gal stock tank tied into my system that I'm about to start getting some frags in. It looks like you are running your egg crate about 3 inches under the surface, is that correct?
Nice looking system, look forward to hearing more about it!
