This is a few minutes after he was put in the tank

Michael, you have some great looking tanks and livestock. Was your little guy from LA/California or LA DD/Wisconsin?

and did I see some dragonface pipes in your video?

Thanks LisaD
He came from Cali. I usually order from the DD, but I gave the california location a shot. They came through as LA usually does. Usually I weary of ordering livestock sight unseen but I trust LA (which says alot, as I do not trust 99.99% of Livestock retailers).
The Pipefish you saw were actually serpent stars :)

This is my baby. She is not a rare species. But she is a rare Regal. She eats anything including flake and pellets. She eats from my hand, and will actually let me pet her. I have recently gotten her to actually jump from the water to get food from my hand :)

I got all excited about... serpent stars!!?? :)

I've seen your other posts on her. what a cool fish. it's the personality as much as the beauty that keeps me fish-focused.

Time for pics of them together Jeremy...

Some aweful iphone pics, but you get the idea. I am trying to get one of my reef club buddies to come over and take some "real" photos.

In the top one, you can see the clarion, the conspic, the gem, and the little male crosshatch peeking out of the rocks.

Jmaney..........my Clarion is the A-hole!!!(chases around dither fish.....what the heck is that?!)

I hear that. I guess mine is just mellow. I was actually kinda hoping he would put the emp in his place, but, he doesnt care about anyone. I aint complaining.

Very Nice!! I love that conspic.
~Michael

Thanks. As do I. About 4", but worth every penny. When you look in the tank, he comes up front, and it almost seems as if he's looking at you to try to see what your looking at, because , he swims to the glass, and then turns around and faces the direction you were looking. Wierd.

"To date, no successful, closed cycle, captive-breeding program has occurred (ie getting a generation of captive-raised sea dragons to breed). "

Melbourne Aquarium in Australia are the only facilities in the world to have successfully bred weedy sea dragons in captivity

I think your LFS is onto something ;)

my lfs has bred these over here in England im almost certain of it, they definitely have a pair. The shop is http://simplyseahorses.co.uk/

Stunning! Love the trio together.

I am planning on getting a 4" conspic once my ~600g tank is up.

I know what you mean too about the emperor...they are bad boys and seems as if there is no other fish that can put them in their place.

jmaneypanda, you have some awesome fish to say the least. Your emp looks great - did you raise him from juvi or did you get it as an adult? What locale?

I bought him as a small adult, supposedly from Xmas Islands. The tail is a vivid orange in real life. Like a lid to IO salt. He has probably grown 3" since I got him. Not a real problem, just makes sure everyone knows he's in charge.
