sick carpet :(

well i have this large - was larger carpet but now its not doing well and is shrinking. the water got cloudy- the salt was high for a day at 1.029 but now its back at 1.025. the temp had gone down a few degrees too but now at 77. is there any thing i could do or should i take it out?
