I have a Veliferum sailfin who has fin erosion and minor head and lateral line erosion. I removed him to a qtank and he is not getting any better. He is the healthiest of eaters, lots of fresh macro daily, lots of Julian Sprung purple sea veggies, garlic soaked sometimes, mysid and whatever else I put in the tank. He is fat as a horse, so I dont think nutrition is a factor. I have been reading about this syndrome on here and elsewhere. He seems so healthy in every way escept this. He has been in qt for about a week with no physical improvement. I ordered selcon which will be here on thursday. Should I make my qt hypo? What to do?

thanks for your help, I read that very informative article before I posted. But it seems that things that may or may not be potential causes listed in your article that were in my main tank, are not being used in my QT tank. IE;carbon, grounding probe etc.
Not sure on what to do as my qt is not that big and I dont know how long I should leave him in there to see if he mends.
your advice?

I would probably return the fish to the display and work on improving conditions in there. I would reexamine water quality and start supplementing the diet with beta glucan, Vita-Chem, and Selcon.
