Hey all,
I'm looking for a skimmer to replace an SCA 302 on a 50 gallon heavily stocked sps system. I'm not looking at anything too fancy since I have an a upgrade all geared up and ready to go in April. The SCA just isn't cutting it anymore and I need something to hold me over until then. I have a Vertex Omega 150 for the upgrade. So, with that said want to stay economical for this one since I'll only be using it for about 8 months at most.
I was looking at the Reef Octopus SS110 and the Skimz sn123. Any suggestions/experiences on these two? Any other similarly priced skimmers I should consider?
The only thing I don't like about the 110 is no drain port. I'd like to run a neck cleaner and skimate locker.
I just stumbled across the ATB nano. Anyone have any experience with that? Considering tossing the Vertex Omega 150 and going with the ATB nano 1
Oh ok thanks I thought they didn't have one I couldn't see one in any of the vendors pictures

You don't think the 150 would be overkill on only 5p gallons?
I told myself get the best within reason on this build. I almost bought a bk but then got cold feet so maybe I'll have to give the atb a try

Ok thanks for the info I wasn't finding much reviews. So for the Nano one does the skimmer body just slide into the bade plate? There aren't any screws holding I down or anything? The nano 1 looks like a simpler version of the ATB mikro which to my understanding is not yet available in the statesI am running the ATB Nano One on my frag tank. My Frag tank has 70gal total water volume. Skimmer works great. You wont get any reviews unless someone outside the USA chimes in. This product is brand new to the USA.
Nano would be good now and the upgrade in the future. Unless you end up bigger then 125-150 in which I'd look at the 840v2.Well it's either I upgrade or make decorative ornaments out of all the equipment sitting in the garage! But all jokes aside the upgrade is 100% guaranteed. I wish you could get the ATB mikro over the ATB nano. I don't like how the nano appears to just friction fit to the base.

What motor block is ATB using for their DC pumps?
Any reason why they chose a Chinese pump?Jebao DCT for the block and controller.
