I posted this in the invert area but thought this may be a good place as well:

Just noticed my skunk cleaner shrimp is full of eggs :bounce3:

Which leads to a couple ?s.....

I lost another a few days ago, could this 1 have killed it?
If another is introduced will it suffer the same fate?
Any chance of getting any that may hatch to survive?

Highly doubtful the other one killed it.

Hard to say if you add a new one if it will suffer the same fate as we dont know what killed the other one.

No chance on any of them to survive unless you plan on setting up a dedicated tank to raise them and plan on spending the next 9 months trying to raise them and still be lucky to have 1-2 survive. These shrimp are very hard to raise. If you wanna try to breed shrimp i would suggest starting out with pepermint shrimp

No plans on breeding as that seems like an awful lot of work. Saw the eggs and got curious.
Thanks for the response Shifty.

One of my cleaners ALWAYS has eggs. They start green, turn brown, and then hatch. My pair of clowns and royal gramma always know when its birthing time and they all compete for the delicious little shrimp babies. None of them live more than 3 seconds before being eaten. You'll see the shrimp sit in one spot and keep shaking his butt to help them hatch. 2 days later he's full of eggs again. It's amazing. Most fertile shrimp ever.

You could put it in your refugium, if you have one, until the eggs hatch. Not likely any will survive, but you never know. +1 for Billdogg's post.
