Very true...on my list of eventual purchases is a Lumenarc reflector, but right now with looming tuition payments coming up I've gotta be banking as much cash as possible. :)

Trying to get through without racking up any student loans doesn't leave as much room for fun purchases as I would like...lol
 
Pretty cool! I think I'm going to get the 20" 80W Orbit for mine. I don't see any filter are you going to add one? I figured I would add one of the HOB style filters in addition to the mj900.
 
I don't have a filter yet...I'm still toying with the idea of running a sump/fuge setup, and also with the modded AC70 idea. I may pick up a cheap HoB filter with a surface skimmer and run that for a couple of hours every day or something...even with the MJ900 creating some nice surface turbulence I've got a nasty film.
 
Hmm...perhaps that's the way to go, then. I don't see any reason I wouldn't be able to run the AC70 as a fuge with a surface skimmer.

Did you trim down/switch out the impeller at all?

I've seen the clowns doing the "good news shake," oddly it's been mostly my female doing it, but then again, the male has always been a little goofy.

Goofy as he is, I think he's going to start hosting the Xenia. He keeps swimming up to one of my bigger stalks and checking it out, but hasn't gone in yet. He will soon, though :)
 
I'll definitely be keeping an eye on things when I introduce it...the last thing I want is for them to love it to death! It's my favorite color morph and it's been doing wonderfully so far.

If they start hosting the Xenia, that would be pretty ideal...I hate to say it, but I wouldn't be depressed if they managed to kill off a stalk or two.

I love LPS...I'd like to get a couple of frags of SPS just to have some diversity, but at this point I'm thinking LPS is going to dominate me tank.
 
So I acclimated and added the Frogspawn that has spent the last two weeks in my QT...and within seconds of being placed into the tank the peppermint shrimp started tearing bits of the tentacles off. It looks to be okay and maybe inflating a little bit right now...i wish I didn't have to go to work from 2-8 this afternoon (partially also because it's ridiculously hot out there..)

I moved it around, chased him away from it, and he seems to be leaving it alone for now.

He may find himself moved over to my quarantine tank and traded off if he can't behave himself.

NVM i remembered you changed the stock hood...Get some SPS then it will add diversity for suree..there is no LPS with a similar shape to SPS that i know of...even tho i dont know much
