Slakker's Oceanic 58g

Yeah, he seems to be doing okay. He's already eating cyclopeeze and spirulina enhanced brine/mysis and is pretty active. He picks on the new dartfish (whose name is appropriate...he's much too shy for me to get a good picture at this point) a bit, but I think they should settle down soon.

Nice rockwork on the 58... can't wait to see that covered in corals :D

Good capture on the skittish wrasse (I'm having the same trouble trying to photograph my two Orchid Dottybacks, nothing but purple blurs when I reach for the camera  )... that wrasse is a very nice looking fish!!

FINALLY an update!!!

Both new fish have been doing really well for the past month, the wrasse is a bit of a butthead and likes to chase the dartfish back into his hole, but doesn't appear to be hurting it and both seem to be getting plenty of food. I expect the 58g will be plenty of territory for both of them.

I moved the halides over to the 58 today and I am really excited...it's gorgeous. I was pretty worried as the bulb was firing up, as it took about 3 minutes before it was actually brighter than my actinics, but it looks great. Today I will be moving all of my corals and both fish over to the 58, as well as doing a long, long delayed water change. Pics will be up in a bit!

Yeah, it's a great size tank. I'm loving mine even more now that I've got everything in it and have the real light on it...pictures just don't show how magical the shimmer is!

 The dartfish decided to jump to its untimely death today while I was in class...

I have the WORST luck with fish, it seems.

Sorry to hear about that dude. Dont let it get to ya. What could have caused it to jump out is what im wondering?

Looks great, I just tore down my 58 after having it setup fro over 4 years. I had a 400wMH and 3 different powerheads.
Enjoy the tank and the hobby.

Well, I hustled to get the stand and canopy finished this weekend, partially because I want to get the wrasse moved over, but mosty because my roommate and I adopted kittens from the local shelter and one of them is particularly interested in the tank.

Ok Tyler, you absolutely have to move those closet doors and make sure your camera is level... it looks like your tank is falling over to the left

Canopy looks great BTW :D

Here's mine! His name is Chip.

He was brought to the shelter by the owner of a somewhat local strip club. The folks at the shelter named his brother Dale (Ha...get it?)

I thought about changing it, but he's got a pretty interesting story, and to be honest it's just kinda grown on me.

Awe he looks like a trouble maker!

I never changed my oldest dog's name when we brought her home from the humane society either. Some names just stick!

So how much chaos has Chip caused?
