OK, first I want to thank John for getting us in contact with Susanne at the St. Louis Science Center:thumbsup:
Second, for all the passionate hobbyists with pitchforks in hand, time to put your money where your mouth is
The Discovery Room is open from 10am-3:45pm, on Thursday this area is closed to the public. I made an appointment with Susanne this coming Thursday at 1pm for a few of us that want to go to evaluate their aquarium and bring that information back here to this group.
I will bring any pertinent information about their aquarium to this thread. I will take test kits for just about everything that can be measured and post the results here. I will also report on the amount of liverock, substrate, fish, inverts and corals.
I hope our visit this week can afford some information on what their budget is, what role we can play in active maintenance, and what we can do to bring this tank to pristine water quality. I would also hope that once the tank is brought to optimal health that we could donate corals, fish and inverts to make this a true treasure for the little ones coming to the St. Louis Science Center.
Susanne was very grateful for our willingness to help even though there was mention of pitchforks in this thread:lol:. Resources such as we have here on Reef Central and in this club are priceless, we have many dedicated reef hobbyists here willing to help so this should be a great experience for all.
If you are willing/able to go this Thursday, please send me a private message so we can get an idea of who is going.
Thanks!
