...thats the only live thing i put in the tank, so basically they lasted 6 months in a bucket with a powerhead reproducing
I "created" some LR rubble for my sump on Sunday from rock that I've been "cooking" for over 6 months, and I was dumbfounded to see all the pods, worms and other beneficial critters on the rock... Take that rock-cooking haters! ;)

You could talk to Sonny (SunnyX) about the Procolor bulbs and the effect of red spectrum. I remember him referencing me to that article after a discussion we had...

Also, for future reference, it's best to add salt to water, rather than water to salt.

Nice painted nails BTW...

salt to water check..whys that then? yeah i was surprised with the pods, pretty cool tho

Ya know, I don't remember the whole reasoning behind it to be honest... I'll have to read up on it again. Next time you talk to Garry for some salt he'd know too... I remember him mentioning it to me before. Some type of "chemical imbalance" occurs, with Calcium IIRC.

ok, so i kinda had a time out... not a fish time out but a reef time out... stopped working on the tank, but just enjoyed the fishies...

its time to get the show on the road again...i changed my job and have been life busy... but miss the ole corals :) soooo time to get this baby going again

disaster struck...i added 2 hawaiian pyramid butterflies, didnt QT them, havent had a lot of sucess qt'ing bf's so added them...no visible sign of illness but ive lost my shoal of tierra and ventralis anthias, pair of orchid dottybacks, butterflies, everything except 2 ora misbar clowns.... tank now looks very empt

not sure, water qualities really good, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 0 nitrate... salifert kits, also tested on api kits... my starfish in there is fine as are my snails, the clowns look fine, but so did all the other fish... the fish didnt even look sick before they died.. really not sure

Oh, no.

That is a major loss... I can imagine how you feel... Did they all just die overnight? Any visible signs on the dead fish?

How long after the BF were introduced did this happen?

Man, I am so sorry for you... :hmm3:

Tank looks great man!! keep it up. I was hoping you were going to keep it barebottom. I loved the look of it! I have been using salt from gettanked also and I have to say I am pretty impressed with it.
