Small back up generators

I was thumbing through the paper on Sunday and came across a very pleasant advertisement. Pep Boys Automotive has 1200W surge (1000w Continuous) generators for $120 with a $20 mail in rebate. It ain't much but its enough to run your heater and return pump and maybe a TV or small room heater.

Just do me a favor and don't sell them out, I don't get paid until Friday.

awesome! time to do the budget shuffle and see what I can come up with myself. I've typically got a ton of UPS systems floating around (whole IT consultant self employment thing) and havent had any problems running the 1000VA units, but nothing says runtime like a generator.

I am planning on getting a 5000w generator in the fall. they were about $500bux if I remember correctly. 1200w for $120 is not that bad though.
