Small Clowns

I just got 2 small clown fish. I didn't realize how small they were until I got them home and realized there size in relation to the slots in my over flow box. They are about an inch long

Whats the best way to minimize the risk of these guys going into the overflow?

Now I am paranoid of my new Nano Streams, although their intake is not that strong.

Thoughts? Ideas? Am I over reacting?

i have small percs and two nanostreams dont worry about them but the overflow i would cover with gutterguard

Thanks for the quick reply.

What is gutterguard and where can I get some? Do you have any pictures of its use?

Thanks again.

home depot it covers gutters on houses so stuff doenst get stuck in it they sell both metal and plastic versions get the plastic

Thanks again.

I am kind of wishing I had gotten a smaller tank for these guys. I didn't realize how small they would be. I am putting them in my 50 gallon that I have had for some time. The only thing that I have in it is a 4 inch blue tang (has never bothered anything including another clown that I had for 7 years), 2 peppermint shrimp, a cleaner shrimp and a hand ful of scarelt hermits.

See any issues or should it be good to go?

I am very glad I got the gutterguard. Thanks again for that suggestion GSM.

My 2 little RodOnyx seem to be settling in OK. Day 1 they stuck together and hung out around a rock. Spent the night sleeping in one place in a small hole on that rock.

Yesterday Day2, they spent more time swimming around the tank and exploring a little bit. They were not shy about getting food at feeding time. As the day went on I also found them seperating from each other, which they had not done at all before.

Last night they started to hang out at the top of the tank seperately which I understand is somewhat normal for percs. Early this morning they were swimming on there sides at the top.

One of them kept hanging out near my overflow box, floating close and then swimming away like it was a game. I turned the return off to see what they it would do and he almost seemed disappointed like I ruined his game.

It probably would have been only a matter of time before he took the plunge to the sump, but its pretty secure now.

Will these 2 little guys tend to hang out togeter, will they seperate and adopt there own hosts (one seemed to be settling into my favia last night, before joining the other at the top)? Will they pair up this early and adopt a host together?
