i've had over 40 of these hitchike into my systems. 30ish in my reef, all housed in a 17lbs rock and 20ish in my planted aquarium, all housed in a 16lbs rock (i believe indo ) they've since spread out, but these are the rocks they arrived in, over a year apart.
my eel made short work of the pistols in my reef, but a few survived and i think populations are once again back on the rise.
my planted aquarium has lots. (no preditors) these guys are super bashful, and usually all you see is a couple yellow feelers poking out of holes in the rock (they seem to bend in any dirrection, continually searching the rock for food around the burrow. they are noisey as hell. some times single pops, sometimes it sounds like full auto machine gun fire (rapid succession of 30 to 40 pops-2 shrimp going at it)
the only time you ever see them is at night, or scurring through thier burrow during the day.
they seem to reach a max size of 1.5". soimetimes i see 3 or 4 of these guys in the same burrow (which i thought was wierd)
anyway, here he is. found himself with no place to hide.
any idea's? thanks
