Smoothdog's 150DD build

Thanks Nook! You should have seen the crap that was under the old egg crate.:eek2: Scooped out 3 or 4 good nets full of crud.

Don't think I ever mentioned it in this thread but I jacked things up by overdosing magnesium due to a bad test kit. Things are finally starting to normalize and sticks are starting to get some color and growing again, so I picked up a few frags from the CDP and LFS to replace a few things that died off.

Recirculating biopellet reactor - take two:

Now I can actually tumble the pellets and control the effluent rate, so hopefully there will be no runaway bacterial blooms.

Nice man. I just got all the parts I need for an algae scrubber. Hopefully that will fix my No3 problem. If not I'll try the BP reactor again. What size holes did you drill in the side of the 550?

I also thought about doing the scrubber thing, but since I already have algae in the fuge and nuisance algae all through the tank, I figured the last thing I wanted to do was try to grow more algae.

Well, it was a busy summer and the tank got a little neglected, but maybe that's what it really needed, to be left alone. Most things have colored up nicely and getting some good growth again. Still have some algae issues in one of the frag tanks but the display is doing great. Found some time to give the glass a little love last night and got some new shots. Even found 2 fish in the overflow while I was at it. :D Need to start fragging a few things before they get too overgrown.

Color is bad on the outside due to growing out of the light, here's a better shot of the color, the tips are much more purple in person too.
