Snagged a aberrant/white zebrasoma flav(?)

Hello all,

I saw on a local Facebook group 2 days ago of a white /yellow aberrant(?) tang
I called the guy and asked how much them bam 125$ And a 4 hour round trip got this girl home


Even better news, She has been in captivity for 1 year 2 months and has held the white color -

She flashed yellow then when happy looks like the pick above!
She will be in qt for Tt and prazipro

Thoughts? On this weird morph

Have any pictures in better lighting? Most of the aberrants I've seen have more distinct lines between the yellow and white. Nice pick up!

I believe that condition is called "leucistic" where the eyes are normal but the body is kind of albino.

Wow, nice snag! I like how it flashes yellow but is white otherwise, for 125$ that's a super buy

yea SUPER buy-- i snuck in there with our nicer camrea and got this pic of her just chillin --still very confused by this fish ? seems to have pigment just not display it --- only 4 more transfer and into dt !!

I'm going to have to say no, if they did I would of guessed the tang to sell for 3-500$ . I must say I am a little jealous of this catch

^^^^ he said he knew it was a hybrid of some sort - we discussed it and he felt comfy with me getting it- when I showed up in Tulsa (I live in Norman ) he already knew my tank size and inhabitants - soooo it was pretty awesome - on Tt number 2 will keep this thread updated -

The term "hybrid" gets tossed around so easily! :headwally: lucky you! I'm jealous too

On that note, are you worried about adding her to your tank? You have a black, chevron, and achilles hybrid right?

^^^ yes and no- we sold off our big black tang - he was up to about 7.5 so he ended a bigger home - so now we have a chevron achillies hybrid and a tiny gem- I am nervous about adding but what we will do is pull the other tangs and qt then in a 20g for 3-5 days . Add the 'white' the. Add the other tangs back In- if we have problems we will pull one of the other tangs - homes have been arranged prn - the gem is tiny so prob no problem there, achillies hybrid is smaller than squishy and new 'white' so prob going to have a issue with chevron (squishy) and 'white'

We will know Friday of next week- I will keep everyone posted

Yellows can hold their own, pulling the other tangs might not be necessary, sounds like a good plan though! Congrats on the gem!
