snail question

I have a couple of snails I dont remember what there are called but they have a little snout like an elephant, I know theres also a bad snail that looks the same , How do you tell the differance between them again? and why is the bad 1 bad? thanks

i think there nassirus from the florida area warmer waters theres another one that looks very similiar from the carolinas colder water supposedly the carolinas type is not good because there not accustomed to our tank temps. Just going off what i read some time ago.

nassirus, sp?..anyways those are the good ones and they bury themselves..someone told me the others don't..not sure if it's true though.
