Eric Borneman's Aiptasia
control recipe:

100ml distilled water, 1 teaspoon Red Devil lye (sodium hydroxide), and
2 teaspoons calcium hydroxide (kalkwasser). Mix well and use a PD-Tip
or dispensing syringe. Turn off water flow and let sit for one hour
before turning flow back on.

Note:
This mixture is also effective in killing just about anything you put
it on, including out of control xenia, polyps and even some hair algae
types.

Not in my Tank!. Just try Lemon Juice or Kalk Paste alone with a Syringe. If you stab them quickly you can kill them easy.

i agree with bill....thats adding crap to the water.....much less it even sayd it will kill other things too......what happens if some gets loose and lands on an sps or something....better not to chance it....pepermint shrimp and or lemon juice.....my pepermints have done a great job of killing them....except one rather large bugger which will get injected :D

doesn't boiling water do the same?

many have tried hot water like that, but what i've seen they come right back.......worth a try though since water if free to get out the sink :D

Lemon juice is the best possable way to create huge PH swings. Just a few drops can greatly reduce PH instantly in smaller systems. This can do a whole lot of killing in your tank if you have many aiptasia to kill.

I use Marine Buffer + scalding hot water - mixed and put in a syringe. I feed the anemone a large piece of krill, so it can't withdraw, then inject it from the side behind the "face/disc". Works every time.

Aiptasia X has worked very well for me. No side effects that I've noticed so far. I turn off all my pumps, zap the aips and leave everything off for 25 minutes. Turn everything back on and the aips wither away.

Peppermint shrimp work the best for getting rid of aptasia. The natural approach works the best. Put them in then in a week or 2 you can't find any aiptasia. I am amazed that I used to struggle against some thing that has a natural remedy that does not end up like the rabbits in Australia. I will never try and fight them any other way. A CBB while he will eat them should not be introduced only because of this.

Just my 2 cents

I agree with the ones saying peppermint shrimp! I do have a whole bottle of aptasiaX and syringe that someone can have if they come pick it up. I also have a bottle of chem-marin stop hair algae that someone can have.

I tell you what really Work well for me... White Vinegar. It kill aiptasa really well, make sure you turn off all pump and fan. Try not to squirt directly to yr coral, or the coral will die too... LOL
