So I still haven't gotten around to starting a thread for my new nano yet, and it's still far from "complete," but.... I thought I would share a couple pics anyway. :)

Here's how the tank looks in the room. It's in my studio/practice room. I'm pretty happy with how this area turned out!
I'm also thinking about adding some mangroves - think they would go well with all the other plants.

Here's my little non-photosynthetic section. I got the black sun and the dendro at the Syracuse swap. The dendro has been easy, but the black is still needing a bit of TLC. It's been eating, but still doesn't open completely and is grayish instead of black. Interested to see how this progresses......

French Horn!! Woot Woot! I never played that instrument, but it's nice to see other "band geeks" around here sometimes. lol

Oh dear..... I'm pretty sure being a "band geek" stops when you get out of high school - now being a professional musician is cool :) :)
Yes...... this is what I tell myself anyway.....

Very nice!

What substrate are you using? I really like it.

Thanks! I just took some substrate out of my other tank. That tank has a mixture of fine and coarse "live sand" out of the bag..... don't remember which kind - made that decision at the very beginning before I knew that was the kind of thing I need to be concerned about :)

I love your Non-Photosynthetics Lizz,You do a great job keeping them..

Thanks! They take some time to feed, but if I'm in there working anyway, it's not really a problem - fun to have the distraction :)

couple more pics -
just took another one of the non-photosynthetics (blue lights). They open (of course) better later...

And here's my little rescue porcelain crab - the picture's not great, but my purpose is to show that she seems to be reaching out for me when I approach the tank. She eats greedily from the turkey baster now. That makes me happy :)

The tank and decor look great! I need someone like you to kick my butt so that I might finally do something about the mass of wires, ballasts, timers, books/magazines, dosing supplies, misc tools... that liter my tanks surrounds.

Thanks for all the comments guys!
It's really nice to get all of your compliments!!

MrSalty - you might benefit more from a visit from my husband - he's the neat one over here :)

DaveVG - the crab is in a maxi-mini-carpet-nem. She hosts there - pretty cool to watch!

Gary - your guess is as good as mine about the orchids. My husband got them as gifts and I yanked them into my room :) I'm off to the book store tonight to find some sort of care book - wish me luck, I don't have such a happy record with plants.

I hope to get some better FTS's in the next week or so. Still working to find a place where the corals are happiest. They looked gorgeous when I was having problems with algae (diatoms, GHA, dino.....) but now that I seemed to have beat that, the corals are a bit fussed. So this week I'm feeding a lot to see if they just need higher nutrient water.
