So ok they arent the worst thing in the world but i have ALOT of them, and there are some huge ones. some living under a star mat that drives me nuts, id say at least 50 in a 50 gallon and thats just what i see in the day time

help?

a piece of pantyhose with some deli shrimp should work. Their bristles will get caught in the nylon and you will be able to scoop it out then. You could always send me some. I don't have any.

I would send them if i caught them. i heard someone selling them on ebay. this facinates me considering im over run.

I got all my live rock and alot of polops n stuff from the same LFS and they are packed full of worms

so do you put the shrimp inside the pantyhose or just smear it all over? im so over populated

Try putting a piece of shrimp inside towards the middle of the hose. That way the worm probably can't panic and back out. He would already be stuck :)
I was kidding about your sending me some. :) I'm involved in a sandtrade which should start up as soon as it gets a little warmer.

i wouldent want them either. unique tho. So i took a hawian punch bottle (lil 8 ounce one) drilled two holes in the cap. took a piece of stocking, rubbed mysis into it, put the stocking in the jar.. (what else would keep em from crawling back out?)

Ill update in the morning. if any are caught im tossing the whole bottle and making a new one agian... heard they pack a big punch....

Worm populations are pretty much self-limiting. If they have nothing to eat, they don't become plentiful.

If you remove a bunch, what is going to eat what the worms currently eat?

but do i really need all these worm? sure 10 would even be ok. but the reality is at least 50.

i have hermits, snails, and i only have 1 fish... i cant need these worms lol

heard they can eat polps n stuff? havent seen this myself but would hate that as well...

Only certain species feed on healthy polyps and they are not that common. If you haven't observed this behavior you have nothing to worry about. It seems your only concern is that you find the worms aesthetically unpleasing. If so get rid of them though they do no harm. Seeing that your stocking is light, you might be overfeeding. They need a food source and uneaten fish food could provide it. If you reduce the food source you will reduce the population.

the ones that are bothering me most are some that are under a star mat. thank you and you are right i am over feeding. in another forum we are going over this right now, my nitrates are high :( not bad enough to kill. caught it at about 25ppm so im putting myself in check. just because clown wants more doesnt mean she should get it lol
