So I have this fish....

He is a ugly, brown, mean but very entertaining black and yellow damsel. Is there any fish I can add to my tank that are small and can hold their own? I don't want to get rid of him because I have had him forever and my wife likes "her". The tank is a 10g with about 6 pounds of very light rock.

I already asked the wife if I could get a small angler and just let him eat the damsel....she was not pleased.

Thank you for the suggestions. I was thinking some kind of burrowing goby. I don't really want to do clowns as I have had so many over the years. I do have a small cleaner shrimp. The damsel will let the cleaner clean him but only once in a while. What other inverts can anyone suggest? Maybe something out of the ordinary.

A watchman goby and pistol shrimp are always fun to watch. I also got a decorator crab which has been entertaining to watch, especially when I first got it as there was a ton of stuff for it pick and eat off the rock. It was funny to watch him pull things out, munch on them, and randomly decide to stick some on his body.

+1 on the pistol shrimp/goby and decorator crab suggestions! I have a high fin redbanded goby and tiger pistol shrimp in a 12 gallon nano cube, and they are fascinating to watch.
You also might consider a pearl headed jawfish.

A jawfish would be a nice addition. I loved the first one I had. No decorator crab for me. The last one I had used to pinch off my zoa heads and attach them to himself. I really like the idea of a goby/shrimp pair.

In a 10 gallon, a damsel is going to bully everything. I had one in a 10 gallon and it bullied me and all the hermits, including a hermit that was the size of my fist. We were all afraid of her LOL.
