Thanks, appreciate it. To get the fish to pose for pics, just dangle a mysis shrimp outside the glass and say "staaaaaay....good boy"

sweat tank nice pic. have u always ran t5s? i am building a 180 and dont know whether to get mh or t5s.

Thanks, appreciate it. I have always run T5s. I live in So. Cal so heat is always an issue. Don't run a chiller, but am able to stay lower than 82 degrees at the max in summer. Usually hang around 80 degrees though. If I had more cash to dump into this, I would love to give LEDs a try (that a whole nother conversation though)

absolutely awesome! great job! a stunning mixed reef

Thanks, appreciate it, learned from the best, all you guys/gals.

Awesome tank. This is actually my next planned upgrade 5'x2'x2'. Couple questions for ya

1. Based on an earlier comment, I take it your a taller guy like myself (6'5"). How tall is your stand? Can you reach the sand with your hand without using a step stool?

2. Is the tank close to being at eye level with that height or do you find yourself still bending down some to get a good look?

3. You went with a center over flow vs a single or dual corner. Was this a preference?

4. Who made your tank and stand?

Thanks

In reagrds to the amount of fish I think that as long as the fish are happy and not stressing out and your levels are good/stable then that's fine.

i am 6'7" tall also, and i will say that my 24in tall tank sits on a short stand (30-36inches) and i can reach my hand in the tank and touch the sand bed. (there is a canopy so i have to reach over a 1x2 and i have a few inches to spair. i will say my stand sucks because when i look at the tank, all i see is either the canopy or the front few inches of sand.......

if you have someone/make a stand, make it super tall. (make it for your viewing pleasure. after you get your tank up and going, your really never in the tank, except once every few weeks/month to scrape the glass. (i only do that when i know someone is coming over!!))

just my opinion.

Thanks...
1 Stand is 30" tall. I can reach the san without a stand, but it is just fingertips. I use a step when i have to do work that requires more percision.

2 I have a sofa in front of the tank so it is perfect for sitting. Standing by the tank requires bending over to get a good look.

3 No real preference on the overflow. Didn't know much at the time of purchase, so i just went with what they had.

4 Forget the manufacturer of the tank. Bought it through LFS which ordered it from the main guys in L.A.
