Recently I was contacted about my use of Windsor Salt's System Saver II salt in my DIY salt formula and brine shrimp water mix.
With my faulty memory I don't remember who it was and if it was e-mail or this forum.
Just to update, because of the additives now in the System Saver II, I have switched to Windsor Select Plus Water Softening Salt which has NO additives.

I hope your tank is okay. What were the additives and the problems with them?

I don't know what the additives are but it was brought to my attention that additives WERE put in to make the salt clean the water softener better than just salt. They don't say what they put in, only that it's a patented forumla, whereas the Select Plus states that nothing is added.
I no longer have my reef tanks, just seahorse tanks, but as they often come down with problems, I wouldn't know if it was due to the salt additives or not so switching is the only safe way to go.
