Sohal, powder blue and pairs of Angels in 1450g tank?

Hallo@all

I have a 1450 gallon SPS only tank. I thing about a pair of powder blue and one Sohal.

I am also plan some pair of angels. Pair Genicanthus semifasciatus, pair Apolemichthys xanthopunctatos, pair Chaetodontoplus conspicillatus, pair Pomacanthus navarchus, pair Holacanthus tricolor, and one Pomacanthus imperator or Pomacanthus annularis.

Is this list works together with a Sohal? Or risk to high?

Greetings Tow

While I like the idea of Angel pairs, don't you think that's a bit too much on angels even for a tank that size?

The Genicanthus pair and one pair of Pomacanthus/Cheatodontoplus/Holacanthus may work but 5 pairs of large angels for sure won't work.
Maybe, if you chose right you could get a 3rd pair going along but that would already pushing it.
(Too many kings in one country just gets you civil war :D)

As for a pair of powder blue tangs - good luck with that, but from all I've heard so far it will be hard to do.

The single sohal in a tank that size might actually be your smallest problem.

While I agree with the first part somewhat, I doubt a holacanthus pair would work. Also, a Sohal may still be your biggest problem once it is in the 8+ inches range.

If you really want a pair of Conpicuous angels I would rethink the tangs. Will be a really sad day if you come home to see one or both of your 2000$ each angels dead because of a 150$ tang that has grown to be aggressive with size

For me, there would be no choice. I would have a pair of conspicuous angels, and a naso vlamingi as my "large fish" (one of my favorite fish) along with a variety of smaller fish. In my case, I love corals so I am circumspect on fish.

You all understand my thoughts.

Powder blue pair I may become from a guy who want to sold them because they get to big for his tank.

The Chaetodontoplus conspicillatus is about 3200 dollars in germany. And for this money you can buy more things of the daily life than in US. I don't know it is right to pay so much for one fish. I think the Apolemichthys xanthopunctatos is more than expensive enough but the conspicillatus is just my favorite. I never will pay the money for clarionensis or a Zebrasoma gemmatum. Don't know why but I love him.

I add the angels to my list because they are all about 25 cm (9.85inch) Just annularis or imperator grow up to 40cm(15inch). The annularis should be more friendly then the imperator. Navarchus, semifasciatus, xanthopunctatos, conspicillatus should work together with SPS only. They are not so aggressive also. Tricolor and SPS I don't know.

So I think I have to make my list smaller. Powder blue and ich is the next problem.

Small tank small problems, big tank big problems [emoji1]

You should be able to get a captive bred clarion from Bali Aquarich for 8-900$ cheaper than the conspicuous

I with you 100% but fish are more important to me especially in a large tank like that

1450 gallons is"¦huge! LOL
what dimensions are we talking here? Is it "long", "tall" or "cube" shape aquarium?

Never had a sohal so I may be wrong on that one. The small lineatus I had was a trouble maker that tried to bully everyone in the tank but was kept in check by my ocellaris.

And why do you think a Holacanthus pair wouldn't work? I've actually seen them in pairs for sale. (Unless the not working related to the corals)

As for the Chaetodontoplus conspicillatus - I've seen fully grown pairs of them at DeJong - It's an impressive fish but I find several other of the large angels more appealing.

Yes fish is important. But I saw beautiful SPS tanks with large angels in germany and on YouTube from Belgium Netherlands and here by RC.

My opinion is to let the SPS grow. After one or one and a half year put very small angels. People often told me large angels attacks new Corals. Old ones doesn't interested. LPS often doesn't work.

You are from US and know Dejong?

You are from US and know Dejong?

I'm originally from Germany but came to California 10 years ago.

Back in Europe I bought a lot fish from DeJong, simply because of the selection they have. Every time you would find something you had not seen before.
One of the most spectacular things was seeing hundreds of Maldives Pygoplites at once in all sizes. I couldn't resist and bought a pair :D

Ein deutscher wie schön [emoji6]

But you have to be a trader for buying fish at Dejong. Private persons are not allowed they told me...

Shipping is no problem to US?
