Does anyone have a link to the maxijet 1200 mod for the sapphire skimmer?
Im glad i found this i just ordered my solana!![]()
Ok I know this question gets asked about once a week but has anyone other than Sweet D drilled there tank for an overflow?
Ok found the nr thread. Anyone know of a way to mod the skimmer so that the pump could be put in the same place the Sicce pump is located?
OK so another question I am kinda afraid of drilling my tank and I would have to put a sump in the stand which means I would't have room for my ATO. So rather than do that I am thinking of upgrading my skimmer (currently stock) to the aquac remora hang on the back, and having a hang on the back bio-pellet reactor for PO4. My question is I dont have room for both of these on the back of the tank so one will have to go on the refugium which has a much slower turn over rate which one should I put on the refugium?
Excuse me if I misunderstand your question. Your sig says you have a 10g fuge on your Solana and I don't understand how this is configured.
There's plenty of space on the back of a Solana for an HOB skimmer and a biopellet reactor. I have an Aquamaxx HOB and a ViaAqua PR20 with biopellets on the back of my Solana. The PR20 would even fit in the Solan's 2nd chamber which I may do eventually. I just set up the PR20 a month ago and want to keep an eye it for a while before hiding it in the Solana's sump.
just bought a used solana 34. would it be okay to fill the entire tank with a vinegar and water solution and have the tank (with return pump, skimmer, heater, etc.) run for a while to clean the entire tank?
Maybe you are right about them both fitting but I was thinking most reactors are kinda big and the Aquac isn't exactly small here is a pic of my setup. The black tube connected to PVC in chamber 2 comes from the refugium, the black tube from chamber 3 goes back to fuge and the clear one in chamber 3 comes from my ATO reservoir in the stand.
Very interesting setup. You did a great job with the screen top, nice and clean. I noticed that you didn't cover the very back corners on the side of the sump. I had three jumps into the 3rd chamber. A clown did it twice and my blue assessor did it once. All were rescued but it took a long time to extract that assessor. I've never read anyone else's post about this so I think my experience is rare.
