That is not good! I would return the stand for a new one just to be safe. You don't want the glass to flex that much. If it was me I would have a hard time sleeping with that much space.

can some one please help me..i did a water test for 24 hours in my new 34 solana, No leaks..but when i went to fill the tank back up with water/rock ect, i n oticed the front corners of the tank are NOT setting on the stand flush. the right side is worse then the left..i can stick 5 buisness cards under the tank on the right side(front) and 1 to 2 on all the others.. This can't be normal, can it ?

No i checked the foam under the tank it looks and feels fine, it could be the stand, lol this sucks...=(

Although that does stink. I would take the tank off the stand and figure out if the tank or the stand is the problem. Once you have done that contact the dealer you bought the tank from and explain to them the situation. They should get you a new unit with no problems. I had a leaky tank with my first solana and the replacement was smooth and easy. However, don't bother contacting current usa as they only handle warranty issues such as a broken return pump or skimmer they do not replace the tank or stand. Hope that helps.

Just had thought if you don't want to bother taking the stand back. Just put a thicker piece of foam under the tank, most hobby shops have it.

i dont know, i put the level across the top of the stand, its level but it does move slightly when pressure is apllied to the oposite side, i am using a 4 foot level though,i slid the tank over so 1/4 of it was off the edge of the stand < lifting slightly, and the right corner is still not flush on the stand..you think more foam would do it or should i go for a new stand/tank..

thoughts ? thanks for the fast response!!

Have you leveled the entire top of the stand and not just one edge? You really should take the tank off the stand and level the diagonals as well. This will make it easier to see if the top is warped. I would definatly go for a new tank/stand over trying to fix it yourself. If you mess it up yourself its up to you to replace it. If current messed up its on them, but thats just my opinion

I think a piece of foam would look ugly on a solana, even more with the stock stand since the solana and stand combo look very flush...

i agree the foam would be ugly. i did make it down to the lfs today to check out other solanas, they all are the same..so i downgraded today from my 65..i am now a nano reefer=).
i will start a new thread with pics once the tank settles some.
thanks for the help guys..

I need your opinion on flow in solana. have a koralia K2 and two nano at bottom, it seems need more flow since I am running BB.
Does anyone tried 2 K3s in the tank? Is K3 too strong for 34G?

The stand I got with mine was not very well either. Mine wobbled with the tank no it and the door and drawer would bind. I fix the wobble by removing the little plastic tacks on the legs then moved the hinges on the door to let it open freely. I wish they were plug and play like they are ment to be!

Im tired of the Stock skimmer, seems it was not designed to work good on a solana.

This is what I have in mind.

Euroreef solana nano $145, plug and play, consumes 11 watts.

Tunze nano $152 not plug and play have to get a special collection cup and consumes 10 watts.

Sapphire solana $129 and its plug and play, only 8 watts.

I just got my tunze osmolator so the waterlevel should stay constant...

Which one do you guys suggest?

The Tunze seems to be the "go to" skimmer around here. I am not fond of it considering you have to cut the magnet off the side which voids warranty and hampers any sort of resale, and you have to buy a different cup. As I understand it the Euroreef sticks way up out of the back chamber which turns me off. The Sapphire seems to be a nice little package that fits right in and is silent. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find too much about actual performance. All that being said I think I would take a chance on the Sapphire since it fits the chamber in stock form and is also the cheapest.

Yeah all the mods needed to run the tunze skimmer just turns me away because its also the most expensive skimmer.

I really want to try out the euroreef just because its from euroreef and they have a very good reputation, the only downside is that it looks like it will stick way out from the tank.

Now the sapphire is the cheapest and seems to fit perfectly on the solana, but the downside is that the company isnt very well know...

What are the issues you are having with the stock skimmer? honestly mine is working great although my tank has only been set up a little over a month. I did put back in the bio-balls with the black sponge material, it was the only way for me to get rid of the micro bubbles. Of course I will need to remove the skimmer entirely and rinse the bio balls about once a month but other than that is is working perfectly.

Well my tank is around 40 days old, started with live rock and sand, it finished cicling this last week.

I have not been able to get a decent skimmate, could it be because my tank is still very new and I have 0 bioload? it should have gotten nasty skimmate during the cycle but I barely got some light skimmate.

I would give it some time, there isn't any bio load in the tank so I would not worry about it until you have some fish and corals in there. There are a LOT of people that say a skimmer should not be run anyway during the cycle to be sure the good bacteria isn't removed causing the cycle to last longer than usual.

It fits BETTER thats for sure, it was built for the Solana tank, you don't have to mod it, I have not owned the Tunze so I can't compare, sorry. I hear the Sapphire is quiet and kicks butt. Ask around...

will that skimmer fit the solana 25 gallon tank?

will that skimmer fit the solana 25 gallon tank?

What is the measurements in inches of your 1st chamber?
I think my 34 gallon was about 5.5 x 6.5...if yours is like that, then yes it will, but it may be too tall?

TriggerHappyDude: how is the sapphire solana skimmer working out for you?

I plan on changing my stock skimmer and the sapphire is on my mind...

I STILL don't have any water in my tank! I don't know if you read my thread, but I got offered a chance to swap out my tank for the same one but a low iron starphire version of the 34 gallon Solana. So I'm waiting till that comes in to add water and my rock. It should be here this week or next. Its coming from Current-USA to my LFS...so I decided to wait, and its been torture!

It fits in the spot nice and snug however just don't know how well it works, there's a few more people out there with them, should maybe start a thread and ask around!
