I contacted Current-USA and these tanks will be available through local retailers. They are not available available direct.

They've only released the information on them late last week to the dealers, so I have no clue where some of these rumors come from.
 
They are out, the information was released to the dealers last week, and rumors are all ready wild and ramped. The information is out there though...go order you one.
 
I will try to clear up some confusion and find out more information. I don't think all the LFS or dealers got the word, maybe just a select few? But I do know you can't buy direct.
 
I contacted my LFS who sells solana and he is unable to order me the 60xl at this time. He said the Current-USA rep told him it would be a while until the LFS's distributor could get the 60xl. I dont know if its true or not but thats what told me about it. He thought it would be 2-3 mths if not longer from what he could gather.
 
Yeah, maybe some can get them now and some later? Or maybe its 2-3 months for all the LFS/Distributors. Maybe they just are getting the buzz out there about them? I'm sure its a little of all that...

A local aquarium builder the Aquarium Warehouse (greatlakesaquarium.com} says theres a shortage of glass. Even for him. And it may be a while b4 they arrive in the usa.
 
Something we're not thinking about in the price range rumors we are hearing is "freight" or shipping...it does cost to get all that stuff to the stores and or your home...something to add to your price considerations.

I have a feeling they are still working on some of the final plans for these tanks, which might be why we aren't getting good information yet...I'd keep checking the website for updates.

I'll post here once I see any new news!
 
I know shipping cost can be expensive but I can get a custom tank shipped to my door for 150, it shouldnt cost nearly that much for freight shipping from a distributor in which the store orders from regularly.
 
no just tank. however delivery from the distributor to a store is different than from the manufacturer to a customer. The orders are much larger and shipping costs are lower for stores due to volume.
 
what custom tank are you getting for a $150 ? cant even get a glass cages tank that cheap, these systems will probably run 1500-2000. its basically the same set-up i have 2x2x2 = 60g my gc with 3 sided starfire delivered was almost 700 just for tank
