Solaris H4 LEDs + acclimation?

Tank: 60x24x24- I am going to purchase the Solaris 48" H4. I am currently running (2) 48" Coralife Lunar Aqualights, They are 9" above the water (orig. set at 18" above the water by person who set up my tank). I have a large (12' not including the mantle) Squamosa clam at the top, LPS, a couple of SPS, leathers and shrooms. Has anyone had experience with changing over their light source, especially to LEDs? The clam especially concerns me- I have had it at least 3 years- since babyhood! Thank you for any input. Dawn.

I did not acclimate to my original solaris or the H4 I just got, no issues. But ig you are concerned turn on the solaris off the tank and dim white and blue leds to 50%. Then raise em 10-20% each day.

What type of ltg. did you switch from, how long ago, and did you see aenough of a difference to make the cost worth while?

SWSaltwater: How long have you had the H4? I was swayed away from purchasing that one and went with the original. (Just got it today). I have an inside source that tells me that he's not sure that heat issues have been adequately addressed with the H4's yet.

Dawn II: SWS is correct. With the PFO's you can simply set the % of max light you want so it would be a real easy acclimation process. The instructions that will come with the unit will even discuss this under "coral bleaching".
