Some of my "eye candy"

WOW!!! That's all I can say!!!!

Any non-macro shots of that plate?!? I'd love to see the whole thing.

This one doesn't do it much justice, but here is the picture from the guy I got it from (picture was taken about 3 weeks ago - has colored up more since this picture):

I haven't taken any myself yet top-down, as I haven't perfected this method yet. Some day soon!

Thanks for all the comments everyone!

Cycloseris spp?

Cycloseris spp?

Very interesting. It looks like a common orange type Fungiid with rainbow highlights. I wonder what RandyO has to say about these.........

Gary, this is my first plate so I have no clue on the species... RandyO can hopefully chime in and let us know...

Here is an updated shot I took a few minutes ago now that it has puffed up (May help with species identification):

And here is a top down I took of it with my point and shoot camera right when I took it out of the bag:

Hopefully it keeps the rainbow highlights, but only time will tell...

Enjoy!!

Hi, I was just searching for something and saw this thread. What a wonderful collection you have, any updates on your tank progress or pictures? :)

You have excellent taste in corals.. Incredible coloration and extension.. Welcome to the upstate reef society! glad to have you on board... Was just in ARC the other day and he was talking about getting a crawl going soon :) Randy is an incredible guy with an even more incredible store, he has incredible corals to choose from so no surprise you like going 2x a week (me too:).. Welcome again and dont hesitate to hit me up if ya wanna trade a couple of them zoos ;}

Wow completely forgot about this thread! But I too have a Nikon D90. Im more into taking pictures of cars and nature just because i dont have the right lens to take close details of corals, like i would like to and get mad... here are some shoots ive taken.
