Lookin good! Nice to see someone representin' emeralds on fire.

Shortly after that pic was taken the zoos got blown off the plug and vanished into the tank. I had given up on them especially with a blue spot jawfish in there and then randomly one day i found them on the sand bed. I pulled them out and reglued them to a frag plug. They were very white from the lack of light but are not colored back up and doing better.

I will have to get some more pics up, that is not the full collection.

Good luck you have there. I had 4 polyps of Purple Hornets blow off of their frag plug and never found them. It's been 4 months now. On a positive note, your collection looks great!!!

Can you tell us something about your system?

How long have you had them?

What type of lights and wattage do you have?

What's your photo period?

Any additives?

Do you test, if so, how often and with what type of kit?

What are your parameters?

Do you plan on allowing them to grow out by attaching them to a mother rock instead of fragging them?

Thanks for sharing.

Why would you consider asking questions about healthy polyps an inquisition? If you check I have always ask questions about healthy polyps.

Are educational questions now frowned upon in a discussion forum?

I do not consider it an inquisition, it is alway good to pass along any information that might help other keep corals alive. We all love zoas and we like to see them growing.

Current tank info:
45 gallon cube
5 bulb T5 fixture (2 giesmann 22k 2 giesmann 6k and a KZ figi pink)
Photo period is actinics on 10am whites on at noon, whites off at 11 pm and actinics about half hour after that. The whites are on a timer, we have not put the actinics on one yet so hence the rough estimates (we just moved a week and a half ago).

I don't add any specific additives for zoas, but since it is a mixed reef which is heavy SPS , I do add a bunch of stuff. Food is Rods reef, additives are zeo coral vitalizer and pohls extra, elos aminos, and some oyster feast and phyto. I also have a non photo gorgonian in there so the oyster feast and phyto are essential.

I know this is bad, but I don't test the water. I do 10% water changes weekly and 2 part through out the week. Between my wife and I we have a good idea of what the corals should look like so we just make sure everything looks healthy. Once Hanna puts out the hand held test kits for everything, then I will test. I just don't want to get caught in the cycle of forever chasing numbers, and not paying attention to the corals themselves. They will tell you more about your tank then any test kit.

I am not a fragger, honestly I have never done it and am afraid of damaging the coral. We have always liked to buy small frags and watch them grow out over time. I have only fragged one paly and that entailed cutting the frag disc it was on. I have a couple of people in my local club that could frag for me if I ever wanted that done.

Hey thanks MickandNicole, great info you provided. Glad you didn't think it was an inquisition and thanks again for sharing as I think it will always help someone else with a similar system/set up.

I hope you don't take offense muchoreef. I just found it odd when I checked my subscribed threads and several of them had the exact same cut and pasted questions.

Now that I have shared some tank info, lets get back to what we all really like, pictures!

This one is from the 45g with the actinics on. Normally I don't like to take pics with actinics because I like people to see the zoos as I see them. Candy apple reds:

These pics come form my 30g tank and the frag rack that is a corner eshops one that I have in the front left corner a big higher than half way up.
