Thanks, I picked the cap up from a lfs for 30$, it was about 4" wide, now 5 months later it is close to 9" wide. Has very nice white polyps too, just didnt capture them well.

nice, cap looks amazing! Those caps are cursed in my tank one day I'll get one to hold it's colour and grow as quick as my other caps.

I cant wait til my Leng Sy looks like that. I actually got mine free from my local club....needless to say..nice freebee

Tank is 220g 8' long, never had a water change either.
for lights i am using 120 cree leds, 60rb and 60 whites, a mix of optics and dricing them off two inventronics 200w drivers. I run the whites at 85% and the tank has a nice 12-14k look, those pics where when the whites were around 20-30% and blues 100%.

The cap in the first pic is just amazing. One of my favorite corals. I have a purple rim I destroyed while trying to run a UNLS. I hopping it will recover since I stopped it and transitioning to a GAC/GFO system.

Hopefully when my phosphate battle is over my colors will improve more, still have green hair algae growing. I have been running Bio pellets for 2 months now however I started off with 200 ml and am now ip to 600ml as of a week ago so hopefully in a other month the algae will be gone and I can start feeding heavier to get some better color. The length such and my green slimer are the two centerpieces of the tank until other things grow in more.

So you have a nutrient issue, and instead of doing water changes you are just going to keep upping the amount of biopellets you use? Why so anti water changes?

Well I am not up to recommended Bio pellets yet and can't detect p04 or n03 in water yet still have nuisance algae. I am not super anti water change just don't like doing them and on my last system I never really did them and had awesome results. I can keep my levels much more stable by ruling out water changes, having to try to match the CA and alk levels of my new water. The rock I bought had a bunch of p04 in it thus the algae problems. I feed like crazy and am so had liking the benefits of the Bio pellets. I am trying to create a near zero maintenance tank, everything is ran by my apex except for cleaning the glass.

Mammoth reefer, how's they snow up there. I used to live in ridgecrest just south of you and plan on hitting up the mountain this year.

Man made only, great for man made..but we can use some snow off the trails at least for the type of riding I like to do.
