Its the white spot in the photo.I thought it was a growth spot or something at first but it got bigger and has 2 white tenacles that stick out. What is this and how do I get it out of there?

sounds like a tunicate Steve. You could try capping it with superglue. They are harmless though. Could also be a vermetid snail. Any stringy snot like webbing come out of it?

Tough to tell from the pic.

I gota head out to work in a few but Ill get a better pic tomarrow.
Nothing stringy more like something burrowed in it and has white tentacles that stick out.

Theres around 4-5 tenacles that protrude from it.It also, appears to be growing. Its definately inside the coral- actually part of the corasl skeleton or so it appears to me.

?

I would leave it alone.

It's likely a barnacle, vermitid or some similar filter feeding organism. I have these in my corals. (The two tentacle types, too.)

I'm still working with a really bad monitor and HOPEFULLY Santa will bring me a new one.

I appreciate you guys chiming in.

I'm just surprised by the responses here ,seams its not uncommon to have these yet I ve never seen anyone in this forum mention it.

The first coral I bought from Salt Water Paradise many years ago was a trachyphylia radiata, then called welsophypia. I brought it home and saw tentacles. Brought it back in a bucket with a portable air bubbler, sure it would die . Joe looked at me like I was insane. He kindly assured me it would be fine as it was a barnacle. I was dubious but came to like watching the barnacle for many years and realized how much there is to learn in this hobby.

LoL, good story tmz.Yep,never a shortage of new things learn about in this hobby whitch certainly keeps it interesting.

So,I took the advice here and left the barnacle be,its been a little over 3 weeks since I posted and here is a followup pic of the barnacle. Its definately gotten alot bigger.

From the sounds of it, I was thinking barnacle too. But now seeing it more clearly, I'm baffled. I think it's a martian for sure.

it almost looks like a coco worm..... but they dont burrow in corals.. possibly a christmas tree worm or something of the sort? i know they like to go in certain sps.. cant be sure, though.

Can you turn the flow off and take a macro photo of it by any chance? I thought for sure it would be a barnacle but now I'm not sure.
