When talking to a friend today, he told me that he bought a piece of live rock and said it had an Octopus inside of it, and that it was eating his emerald crabs. I didn't believe him until I saw it in person. It's very small (just a tad bigger than a golf ball). Here's a quick cell phone shot I took...

I don't know much of anything about them, but I have only heard of this happening on RC once and I know a lot of people were pretty amazed. Because he obviously couldn't keep the octopus with his other invertebrates, RandyO kindly accepted it and is now caring for it.

How sweet is that? Almost makes me want to setup a lil' nano just to keep him! :)

Wow! I hope it does ok and a good home can be found for him. I've heard they can be little escape artists...

Wow makes ya wonder what we are really putting into our tanks when we get liverock. Although I used to allow my liverock to sit in a qt tank for a week or two before adding

Did the rock come from Tampa Bay Liverock by chance? Heard of a lot of similar hitchhikers with them.

Yeah hopefully no blue rings... and all I got was a mantis shrimp with my first rock 10 years ago... I feel jipped!

Awesome indeed. No blue rings, it's pretty much all grey with black eyes. I'll get a better pic tomarrow of him.

From what I can tell, the rock is most definatly from Florida as it was also covered in sponges and tunicates.
