Somewhat OT thinking about getting my 1st tattoo

like the title says I was thinking about getting my first tattoo..

I went w/ my cousins and they both got tats today.. so it got me thinking.

I've always loved the ocean, fish/animals, and my fav fish is a clownfish so I was thinking of getting a tiny clownfish somewhere.. but I dont know where I want to put it, but I do know for sure I'd want it small no bigger then 1-1.5 inches

Pufferpunk i know you have lots of fishy tats i'd love to see pics again, I saw them once b4 but I'd like to see them again, and anyone elses input would be cool...

just thinking hard about it
 
First of all, are you a guy or a gal cuz.....depending on the anatomy..........placement of tatoos would be different. BTW-I really like your Santa hat on your tang!:)
 
for your first Tattoo make sure that it is not on Public skin you may find out that it was a mistake.Dont get me wrong I have several but have met alot of people who have done it on a whimm and were sorry later
 
I see you are in Indiana...where do you plan to go to get this tattoo? I personally go to Famous Leg Tattoos on Ridge Rd. in Gary. The prices are reasonable and they do good work. I'll see if I can change my avitar to my back.
 
I'm a guy, and for those of you who have met me, you would know that I am pretty small lol 110 lbs skinny little arms so no tattoo there.. dont want it on my legs.. I was thinking maybe my back but thats usually a place for larger tattoos, so I was thinking maybe on my side somewhere, or just a little bit above my waist line somewhere... not sure, its just an idea at this point, and I am a wuss when it comes to needles n stuff so I'm gunna have to reallllllllly think this through. I found a pic online that I like, I am going to draw it a little bit, and add an anemone or somthing to it I think.. I'm still not even certain this is what I want to get. I think I'll get those fake tattoos made of it first also.. I just want to be really sure!
 
My family lives in Illinois, hence the reason why I'm always in the cmas forum. I plan to move up here soon since I work in Elmhurst.. Anyway my cousins got theirs done at this tattoo place on ogden rd in Downers Grove, she did a great job and she was very professional..
 
Don't put it on your back, put it somewhere where you can see it, if you are doing it for yourself and not to show off.
 
Tatoo are not bad pain wise after my first tattoo I craved the ink and ended up with 8 total nothing like Puffer but I still like them
I always caution people on tattos because they are permanate

I got clown tats already so back off

I find tats a bit uncomfortable at around the 45 min mark

most of mine are hidden. but I spend the summers in my swimming attire
some of my nieghbors do not approve of my ink at small children pool parties. I try not to invite them again.
yes, some people will judge you

think about it, I hear it hurts alot to get them removed, and then you have a scar
 
Careful if you put it on your side. I had a large tat put on my back and extends a little to my left side. I'm a little on the ticklish side... so I kinda wormed and jumped a little when it came to the side.
Have it done on your abdomen. That way, when you want to add more (and you will) there will be plenty of canvas.
 
I really dont think I will want to add more.. Im just wondering if a little clownfish is kinda girly.. lol I'm not the most manly person in the world but I dunno... lmao!

So much to think about.. I'm so distracted @ work today, I keep thinking about it. I have a picture drawn up that I like...

I cant wait to show ya'll what I drew up.. I found a pic online, and looked at a few others, I think i want the clown by a coral or in an anemone which would make the most sence.. I am getting permanent markers and making my friend draw it on my tonight lol.. Im such a dork, but I want to be totally sure of it.

Do you get a free skirt and matching purse with that tattoo? Just kidding PITW. I think it's cool, especially with a coral by it. If I were gonna tat a fish, I would probably have a trigger. I have a few scars from my queen trigger from long ago. Good luck.
