So i just installed my second Hydra and i am not happy, apparently AI is now shipping a V2 with brighter LED's and a thinner body. Now my lights are not even in height or light output..

Contact them. I am sure they will do something to make it right. That would drive me nuts if I had to live with it that way. This will be a test of their commitment to customer satisfaction.

Thanks newbie, they stated that although the design changed, the leds didn't. So I started thinking it might just be the light reflecting off the whiter rocks which had no light. I'm going to wait and see if they darken up and the lights blend in.

If anyone needs chaeto, This is after three weeks of led light in sump. When I got it from newbie Aquarist it was the size of a baseball.

Just an 800 lumen, par 38 led spot from Lowes @5000 k. It's on a reverse daylight schedule from 7-7am.

Ya man, funny thing is I had to leave it in the qt tank for almost 2 months until I finally got a bulb. So it was under 6 crappy leds, medicated, and cycled.
