He just talked about this on the last page.

Yes rt I realize that, thats the post I was referring to.

Hey Sunny,

Started the vodka today after 2 weeks of mb7. Could you tell me what you are feeding your fish and how often.

Thanks

The GE6500K won't be too yellow?

I would move the the bulbs around until you get a bluer look. Try swapping out one of the Aquablues with a Blue+ from the back.

Check with some local reefers as well if you are wanting to try out the GE6500K. Sometimes you can find people with old bulbs laying around.

Hi Sonny,
About how many pounds of rock do you have in your display?
BTW, great thread and great tank

Hello,

Probably around 60-80lbs.

Sunny,

Do T5's work just as well as MH regarding growth for sps? I have a 29" high tank and want to know if T5 will work well at the depth?

Thx

Sonny, I have the same fixture as you and I was wondering what you currently run for your photoperiod? I checked your website, but I didn't see it posted.

I think I might be way off, but is it:

(3) Blue+ @ 12hrs
(1) Aquablue Special + (1) Blue+ @ 5hrs
(2) Aquablue Special @ 6hrs

Are there any specific reasons why you chose Brightwell's Bacter7 over Zeovit's Zeobac (other than the huge price differerence...) ? Also, why vodka as a carbon source, over Brightwell's Biofuel? (or even zeoStart2, for that matter). I like the probiotic approach but curious how you came to decide on the products you're using.

He's covered this several times, so I'll answer for him........availabilty and cost of the products. Vodka is cheaper than the biofuel and the MB7 is readily available where he's located.

Oh wow, I hope you guys that had questions were able to read the responses I posted yesterday. Looks like all the posts I posted yesterday have been deleted with the new update.

Let me know if you didn't read my response to your question so that I may answer it again.

Sunny , your tank is a real inspiration..thanks

i have a few questions that i desperatly need help with.

1. I have 150G tank.... will 8x80W T5 with individual be overkill for my setup ? i am planning on only keeping SPS's corals and a few clams.

2. Does stocking corals add to your bioload in the tank ?

Thanks

Junz

Sunny, how high should T5's be to keep acan's on the sandbed?

Hello,

My acans are on the sandbed but not directly under the lights, about 23" down(Tank is 20" high and fixture is 3" off rim). If I put ANY acans directly under the T5's on the sandbed they will bleach out and melt.

I suggest that you leave a space in front of the tank where the T5's are not directly over the sandbed. T5's are weaker on the ends so you could try that as well.

Encrusting monti as well must be placed away from the lighting(in my tank).

Hello,

What are the dimensions of your tank?

The effect on bioload will depend on what corals you plan on placing. At any rate, I wouldn't worry about corals causing any bioload issues, unless you were heavily feeding them and not running carbon to offset chemical warfare.

Hey Sunny,

I really enjoy your tank, it's one of my inspiration for my tank. I have a rimless 36x30x20, and have a couple building threads on other reefing sites. Majority of the fellow reefers say that I should aquascape like your tank, I know it won't be exactly like yours. I will try to re-create your aquarium but a little of my taste too. My question is I know you have a 7 bulb t5 fixture. Do you think with minimal aquascaping I can go with a 6 bulb t5 fixture? Most people say 8 bulb would be ideal but I really like the ATI sunpower. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

hi my dimensions are 1500mm x 600mm x 600mm not such what it is in inches.

i could also get for the same price 2x250W MH with 4x80W T5's... but im just looking for great colors in my corals and not really worried with the type of light that is needed

i wont be feeding them directly...but will be dosing amnio acids once a week to keep them happy.

Will running filter socks for short periods of time, like over night, remove the bacteria I have added with mb7 from the water.

I like to run them when I stir the shallow sand bed or stir my sump to help filter the water.

Thanks
