Hello,

I would stop the vodka completely and continue dosing the MB7. I have had the same velvet stuff appear when my vodka dosing got out of hand. It may take a couple weeks for it to go away but its nothing to worry about. ;)

I'll give it a try. Thanks

Sonny - I would honestly try it. I used to play professional paintball and had a personal sponsors for all types of gear. In fact I still have one :)

Never hurts to try. Plus your thread and chings have like 500k+ viewings or something insane like that. Hell I know the reason I have my MB7 is because of you ;)

New pictures too! Vamos!

Sunny,
Are you still using ReefBooster? I havn't read every post in your thread in the last few months, but have not seen you talk about it at all lately...?

Hello,

I have not used Reefbooster or AA's for a while now. My tank and corals have been stable so I have not had the need to dose. If corals slow down in grow or lighten up I will then start to add the AA's.

Just curious, but is anyone here attending the 2010 Midwest Marine Conference? ( http://www.midwestmarineconf.org/Default.aspx ) I plan on going out there since it will be near my home.

It would be neat to meet some of you guys and gals in person. Here in Michigan we have some of the best frags and reefers in the country so the frag swap should be something special.

We have a 2009 Monster Frag swap coming up this Sunday the 27th for anyone interested: http://www.masm.org/Events/Event.aspx?ID=99

Swap open from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Sellers may start setup at 11:00 am.
Sellers must stop all sales at 3:00 pm sharp
Everyone must be out of the hall at 4:00 pm sharp

Additional details along with the "What are you bringing to the MASM Monster Frag Swap 2009 to come shortly)

Hey Sonny, I reached out to you on your thread a couple of pages back to get your advice on something.. but you were being baraged with questions at the time... like when are you not??? Any way, I'm losing color in my tricolor acro. It turned light then turned a little brown with just a slight purple hugh at the tips... It was deep purple when I put it in my tank a couple of months ago.. All params are stable.. no bugs.. P03 and N03 are undetectable.. I just raised the amount of AAs Im dosing to 2 ml / twice a week... Right now I'm at 4ml of Vodka and 4 drops of MB7 daily... Any ideas on why this may be happening or what I could try? Everything else looks great. There are new pics on my build thread... Thanks dude..

Hey Sunny,

Noticed you have not been dosing AA's for awile. Are you using something else or just relying on fish food to feed corals. If so what are you feeding.

Thanks

Sorry I missed you post. :p

I had the same thing happen to my tri-color when I went over to T5/carbon dosing. After I started feeding more my corals darkened up a bit. You could try some Lugols solution if you are looking for your tri-color to "pop" purple. Once your corals adapt to the T5's and you hit the sweet spot with the carbon dosing the corals should take off in color.

Sunny, I have a 72" 14 bulb Aquactinics Constellation. My bulb arrangement is:

FRONT
ATI Blue+
ATI Aquablue Special
ATI Aquablue Special
ATI Blue+
ATI Blue+
ATI Aquablue Special
ATI Blue+

I like the look of the tank with 8 Blue+ and 2 Aquablue Special bulbs on. It's a nice blue, but a little too blue, but when the last 4 Aquablue Special bulbs come on, I feel the tank is too white. What do you think I can do to brighten up the blue look without getting too white?

No problem Bro. Thanks for the response. I was wondering if you experienced the same.. I am using lugols.. So, I guess I may need to sit back and wait.. It's funny though... My tricolor is the fastest growing coral in the tank. Go figure that! it is totally encrusted.

GE 6500k
ATI Blue+

You can also ask Grim over in the T5 thread..

The GE6500K won't be too yellow?

Go with the fugi purple bulb, that will help balance things out

Hi SunnyX ,,,,,,

after two months of dosing 14 drops of MB7 and 10ml of Biofuel , i see my corals start to lose colors ! today i decide to reduce the dose to 7 drops of MB7 & 5ml of biofuel and start to dose 5 drops coral amino two times aweek , did think thats will help me to boost my corals colors ?

Sonny I know you were running 3x blue+ and 4x aquablue special initially..but have your t-5 lighting combo changed since? What would you recommend for a 6x39watt combo

Grim recommends
4x blue+
1x uv actinic white
1x ge 6500k

Any thoughts on that?
